Netflix shook it up, brought this whole new generation of people who said, ‘I watch things when I want to watch, how I want to watch, where I want to watch, and that’s something that no one’s going to ever forget.’ This has changed the game completely, and I think it’s the tip of the iceberg.

Netflix rose to about 24 million subscribers today, and that’s up from about 15 million a year ago, so it’s a very high rate of growth, and that’s what’s exciting about the business – more and more people are getting smart TVs, they’re watching Netflix on their phones and tablets.

Anybody that doesn’t like Netflix, that’s like saying you hate Santa Claus. So if you’re new to the platform or have missed out on any of these, Here is the short list of worth watching Netflix originals:

1. Sacred games IMDb-8.9/10
First on the list comes sacred games. Because this show changed the game for Netflix in India. It was released in June 2018 and the second season is expected to release later this year. The series is a perfect mixture of crime, suspense and thriller. It is based on a novel “sacred games” written by Vikram Chandra, released in 2006. The show broke charts, it was the talk of the town.
The show is directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikram Motwani. It is directed with impeccable finesse and style.
Every actor in the show is top notch, the show is starring three exceptional Bollywood actors as the lead: Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte. Other impeccable actors include Pankaj Tripathi, Neeraj Kabi, Jatin Sarna and many more.
The amount of efforts put in by the creators, cast and crew is incredible.. It is chilling, edgy, dark, thought-provoking and I’m short of adjectives.
Every episode leaves the audience with an unanswered question that makes it irrestible.

2. Stranger Things IMDb- 8.9/10
Stranger things is a Netflix Science-fiction, horror series. The series is created by “the Duffer Brothers” the first season was released in July 2016, the second season was released in October 2017 and the third season is expected to release in July 2019. The series was nominated for four “Golden Globes” and it comes in top 50 in “Top Rated TV.”
The set of Stranger Things is that of the great 1980s science-fiction films, it throws you back to a time where you can still feel a sense of wonder and get jitters. The show has thrilling moments, it is full of drama, fantasy, horror, mythology and other factors that made the show shine. The series has blown people’s minds. It successfully creates nail-biting suspense that makes the series a binge-watch.

3. Black Mirror IMDb 8.9/10
Black mirror is a Science-fiction anthology series by Netflix. It is created by Charlie Brooker. The series has four seasons. The first season released in 2011 and the latest season released in 2018 as black mirror: Bandersnatch.
This series has an outstanding direction, writing, cinematography, special effects, costume, settings, soundtrack and acting. The show is a nice sneak peek into what the future could possibly hold for us. It is a show with a big gut punch after every episode that makes it worth watching.

4. House of cards IMDb- 8.8/10
House of cards is a political drama, thriller American series. The series is created out of the novel “The house of cards” written by Michael Dobbs. The entire series is divided into 6 seasons. The first season was released in February 2013 and the sixth season was released back in November 2018. The show is created by Beau Willimon. The series has its share of twists and turns. 
House of Cards is the story of Frank Underwood, a ruthless and cunning politician, and his wife Claire who will stop at nothing to conquer everything. This wicked political drama penetrates the dark world of greed.

5. Delhi Crime IMDb-8.7/10
Delhi Crime is an Indian crime and drama series. The first season was released in March 2019. The show is written and directed by Richie Mehta. Delhi Crime is based on a rape and murder case that took place in Delhi, India in December 2016. It is Brilliantly directed and executed. The series is dark and remarkable.

                                             

6. Haunting of hill house IMDb:8.7/10
The haunting of hill house is an American horror, thriller series based on a novel written by Shirley Jackson. The series is directed by Mike Flanagan. The series is about a family who shifts in a new house for a couple of months and later it turns their life a living hell. Even after years, the house stills haunts them. The house is cursed by ghostly manifestations of past and present sins are haunting in its own way. It’s the best you can get in horror.

7. The perfect date IMDb- 5.9/10
The perfect date is a romantic comedy that got released in 2019. The movie is directed by Chris Nelson. Based on the novel
“The Stand-In” by Steve Bloom.
The moment you learn how to embrace all your flaws is when you truly become perfect. This is pretty much what the movie is all about. The movie is great and relatable. A fun Rom-com to watch.

8. Bird Box IMDb- 6.6/10
The bird box is psychological in-depth thriller movie released in 2018. The movie is based on the novel “bird box” written by Josh Malerman.The movie is gripping, crisp and concise. The movie has excellent direction, soundtrack, plot and a must watch a post-apocalyptic horror movie.

 If you see, you die.

9. Rajma Chawal IMDb- 5.7/10
Rajma chawal is an Indian comedy-drama film directed by Leena Yadav. Released in November 2018. It is a light-hearted movie, on a middle-class family. A father and A son trying to fill up the gap between each other.
It’s a fine short film to binge.

                           

10. Ghoul IMDb- 7.2/10
Ghoul is an Indian horror miniseries on Netflix. It was released in 2018 starring Radhika Apte, Ratnabali Bhattacharjee among other brilliant actors. Ghoul is a fascinating series, the director has struck the chords perfectly, the series is gut-wrenching. This makes it a must watch.

11. To all the boys I’ve loved before
IMDb- 7.3/10
It is a romantic movie directed by Susan Johnson, released in 2018. This movie completely shows what are the personal experiences of finding love. The story represents a teenage girl surrounded by fantasies who is scared to have real things. The film is a fictional love story that is cute. The script is perfect, the plot works perfectly fine. The actors portrayed the characters are incredibly perfect.

12.”You” IMDb-7.8/10
You are a series of psychological thriller and crime fiction. Released in 2018 on Netflix. This show purely portrays the pitfall of Millennials all around the world. You would want to sit back for this one and I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. Do not miss this one.

13. Orange is the new black IMDb- 8.1/10
Orange is the new black is a comedy-drama series created by Jenji Kohan. The series compromises of six seasons. The first season was released in July 2013. And the sixth season was released in October 2018, it is expected the seventh season will be released in 2019. The series is the most-watched series on Netflix. Every actor and actress delivers a superlative performance. The show talks about real pressing social issues that affect people today, like being something you’re not so that you can fit in. The show is a roller coaster of lighthearted emotions that can turn ridiculously funny sometimes.


14. The Patriot Act – Hassan Minhaj IMDb-8/10
The patriot act is a show hosted by Hassan Minhaj himself. It comes in the genre of a variety show. The show is quite Informative and bold, a critical look at the current situation of America along with that addressing the current issues in the world. Every weekly episode of Hassan is interesting, funny and it is successful because you see him at his best.


15. Nanette by Hannah Gadsby IMDb-8.4/10
Nanette is a standup comedy show written by Hannah, released in 2018. The show is addressing social commentary and issues that LGBT face in society. The show is brilliant at so many levels. It will leave tears in your eyes.
