90’s Cartoon Shows: When we were kids and had no Netflix or amazon prime to binge on, you know what kept us occupied and entertained? The cool and amazing cartoon shows of the 90s. Despite the fact that with time there has been an extraordinary development in the creative and entertainment field whatsoever, I bet 90’s cartoon shows have and will always be the best of cartoons ever produced!

From Tom and Jerry to Scooby Doo, hands down I owe my childhood to these legends of cartoons. I remember, as a child how skipping school was fun or the evenings were made delightful, munching on a bowl of snack while watching Powerpuff Girls or Pokemon. As a child of the ’90s it is your job (and mine) to ensure every generation has a chance to bask in the brilliance of X-Men the Animated Series. From the animation to the storylines, ’90s cartoons were always on point. Hence, I am bringing to you a list of the 90s cartoon shows that I for a matter of fact can still binge watch on..

The classic cartoon show, produced under Disney’s banner. The show followed adventures of Scrooge McDuck and his three grandnephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie. The show had an iconic theme song and aired around 100 episodes across its four seasons.

This show followed the story of three kindergarten superhero girls Powerpuff Girls, and their adventures in the fictional town of Townsville. The three girls (Blossom, Bubbles, Buttercup) were created by Professor Utonium

1990’s Cartoon ShowsTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

The badass cartoon show of the 90s which made turtles look cool. It’s a story of four superhero turtles Leonardo, Raphael, Michaelangelo, and Donatello. The show was undoubtedly action-packed, funny, and remains one of the best cartoon show of the 90s.

Samurai Jack

One of the best cartoon shows of the 90s – Samurai Jack, was based on Jack who was a samurai warrior. Jack was sent to a dystopian future ruled by Aku and his shapeshifting demons. The show was dark and featured a few of the best-animated action sequences in history.

Batman – The animated series

The classic Batman – The animated series followed the adventures of the caped crusaders. This show still remains one of the best adaptations of Batman. I bet this show triggered that superhero in you, cause it definitely did in me.

Johnny Bravo

The classic comedy, this show typically revolved around narcissistic, self-proclaimed womanizer Johnny, and his attempts to get girls to go on a date with him. These attempts to get girls always ended him getting beaten by girls in a comical way. This show was indeed one of the most comical cartoon show of the 90s.

The Flintstone

The Flintstone was set in a comical version of Stone Age, where all the characters used stone aged technologies from foot-driven cars to dinosaurs operated cameras. Although this show was set in prehistoric times it resembled the lives of 20th century urban America. This show undoubtedly remains one of the best cartoon show from the 90s.

Captain Planet

The spirit of planet Earth (Gaia) sends five magical rings with the power of controlling an element of Earth and one with the power of controlling element of Heart. These rings were given to five young people across the globe known as Planeteers

Swat Kats: The Radical Squadron

The show that featured the iconic superhero bromance between two kats, T-bone and Razor. This cartoon show had everything from the advanced plane, supercars, superbikes, and amazing weapons.

Dexter’s Laboratory

This show revolves around a genius boy Dexter who has a hidden laboratory underneath his house. He remains successful in keeping his inventions and lab a secret with his dad and mom, however his hyperactive sister Dee Dee is a nuisance for him. She keeps disturbing all of his inventions, once she is inside the lab. The fact that this show portrayed the basic nature of a sibling relation is what made it so funny, though his science experiments made no sense whatsoever.

Courage The Cowardly Dog

This show featured a dog (Courage) living with an elderly couple (Muriel and Eustace) and his bizarre horror adventures. This show was known for its dark, supernatural and horror atmosphere. It felt scary to me!!!

The Scooby-Doo show

Ask any 90s kid about Scooby and we can rant for hours about our favorite dog Scooby and his adventures. This show had a team of (Shaggy, Fred, Scooby, Velma, and Daphne). It was basically centered towards the theme that “real ghosts lies in us humans”. This show undoubtedly remains one of the best cartoon show of the 90s. No surprise that I grew so fond of the idea of having a dog as my pet! Scooooobbbyy Doooobbyyy Doooooooooo!!!

Tom and Jerry

Who doesn’t remembers the comical fights between our favorite (Tom & Jerry). Hands down this was THE BEST! The plot of this show was simple Tom(the Cat) attempts to catch Jerry (the Mouse) but Jerry always escaped. This show remains one of my favorite cartoons from the 90s.

Popeye The Sailor

The show was about Popeye who was a sailor. This cartoon show taught every 90s kid the importance of eating Spinach. The character was originally introduced in comic strips in newspapers. In each episode, he was trapped in some situation where he ate Spinach and became stronger.

Batman Beyond

This show was set in future Gotham, where Bruce Wayne was an old man and was unable to continue his crime-fighting anymore. Therefore, he meets Terry McGinnis who later becomes the Batman of the future.

The Mask: Animated Series

The best comical cartoon show in the 90s, based on Jim Carrey’s movie of the same name. The show was full of comical sequences and absurd villains, but unlike movie in the show, Stanley was able to use the mask in the day also.

The Road Runner Show

A bird (Road Runner) that ran so fast that he left burning trails leaving everything distorted in his way. Wile E. Coyote who was a self-proclaimed genius always failed to catch him despite of his unlimited supply of gadgets and dynamites. BEEP BEEP!!!!

Pokemon

Ask any 90s kid who’s Ash and Pikachu, I mean who must have not watched Pokemon in the evenings back then. We all loved Ash’s journey, making new Pokemon and human friends, a lot of adventure and fun. They even made a set of movies of Pokemon. Well no surprise there!

Thundercats

A dying planet Thundera, forcing all the Thundercats to leave the planet. They arrive at a planet called Third Earth and fights the evil. The show was action packed and remains one of the best cartoon show from the 90s even till now.

Dragon Ball Z

I still go gaga over Dragon Ball and this show still has a separate fan base even till now. Vegeta remains my absolute favorite from the show but there’s no denying of the fact that this show still remains one of the best cartoon show of all time.

Aladdin – The 90’s Cartoon Shows

This show was set after the events of the movie. Aladdin’s life was changed after he fell in love with Princess Jasmine, and realized his responsibilities later protecting Agrabah from monsters, sorcerers and other evils.
