Habits You Should Let Go Of In Your 20s To Be A Happier Person In Your 30s

Before we begin, I’d like you to take a minute and understand what constitutes a habit. A habit is a routine of behavior that is repeated regularly and tends to occur subconsciously. While our habits are inculcated and are learnt through behavioral repetition, our behavior is something that we actively and consciously choose. So to speak, we do have a say over the habits we choose to foster.

Without further ado, here are a few habits you should  let go of in your 20s for you to be a happier person in your 30s.

Stop Comparing Yourself to Other People

You’re you, and you’re enough. Don’t fall into despair by looking at others. Your time will come, you will achieve, accomplish and thrive too, just wait and work for it.

Stop Making Plans to Change or Enhance Certain Physical Aspects that You Don’t Like About Yourself

Cut the Bullshit

Quit your respective poisons.  “I’m not really addicted” and “I can stop when I want to” won’t really cut it. Be done with it, before it’s finished with you.

This One’s for the Nice Souls Out There:

Stop seeing only the good in everyone, and see them for what they are. Stop rewarding bare minimum effort and pretending something doesn’t bother you if it does. You’re allowed to have boundaries, you’re entitled to say no, and most importantly, it’s okay not to be okay.

Trust Patterns Instead of People

Understand that you are responsible for yourself and no other person. Stop trying to save people who don’t want to be helped. Don’t feel guilty for putting yourself first.

Most people use their twenties to figure out their career path. The more profound ones use it to discover themselves, while the wise strike a balance between the two.
