Some Hilarious Names of Bollywood Movies

Some Hilarious Names of Bollywood Movies: We all know that the secret behind the success of any movie is the script prepared by the writer. However, another important yet often overlooked aspect contributing to the success of any movie is its title.

A lot of thought goes into deciding the title of a movie. After all, you have to give a lot of thought before you decide a good name for your child, right?

However, there are times when crew are so engrossed in making a ‘hit’ movie that they end up naming the movie that will change the fate of the movie altogether and the results will not be in your favour.

So let us take a look at the list of Indian movies that might have had a spine-chilling story to tell, but their names rather resulted in a slew of memes that turned a thriller into a slapstick comedy!

Some Hilarious Names of Bollywood Movies

  • Lion the King:

Now, hold your horses right there! This is not the iconic animated film ‘The Lion King’. This is some South Indian movie whose film title has been translated to falsely attract viewers into watching this movie thinking that it is ‘The Lion King’. You have been warned!

  • Makkhi:

The name itself gets you thinking that maybe, this is a documentary about houseflies by Animal Planet, but no, it is not. Good luck watching that one!

  • Sasti Dulhan, Mahenga Dulha:

Yes, that is precisely the name of the movie. Don’t know if this counts as human trafficking.

  • Mehendi Ban Gayi Khoon:

Okay, this one features Juhi Chawla and I don’t know why! Why Juhi, why?

  • Andheri Raat Mein, Diya Tere Haath Mein:

The English translation on the poster reads as: “In the Dark Night, Eco-Friendly Lights in Your Hands”. Let’s just leave it at that.

  • Murde Ki Jaan Khatre Mein (With Dialogue):

This is the title of the movie. The first half of the title makes you laugh and cringe at the same time. But it is the second half that takes the cake. I think the movie is trying to prove that it has dialogues written because dead bodies cannot talk. Get it? Well, that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, does it?

  • Raja Rani Ko Chahiye Paseena:

What in the world will you do with someone’s sweat?! *Thinks of all the possible contagious diseases spread through human contact*.

  • Mr. 100%:

That. Is. The. Title. And it stars the incredibly talented, wait for it… Mr. Irrfan Khan! Yes, you read that right!

  • Ghar Mein Ho Saali Toh Pura Saal Diwali:

This seems more like the title of a porn movie than a proper Bollywood movie.

  • Jal Bin Machhli, Nritya Bin Bijli:

Try saying this fast and I bet you’ll fail. Well, using the title as a tongue twister is more fruitful than watching the movie for sure!

  • Bedroom Story:

Well, I will let you figure that out on your own.

  • Main Chup Rahungi:

But the movie hasn’t even started and you decide to stay silent? And I believe this movie has sequels like, Kab Tak Chup Rahungi, Main Chup Nahi Rahungi. You get the gist, right?

  • Dhoti, Lota aur Chowpatty:

Please figure out the correlation between these three things, because I can’t.

  • Tel Maalish, Boot Polish:

Because something has to rhyme with Maalish, right?

  • Ghar Ho Toh Aisa:

This is probably what your nosy neighbours think when they visit your house but don’t say it to your face. And this film features Anil Kapoor!

  • Lambu in Hong Kong:

Just a story about a tall guy in Hong Kong, that’s all.

Well, I am highly confident that you might not have heard any of these movies’ names but nonetheless, these movies existed, they were made with great ambition and they sunk at the box office to equally great depths.

Today, stars like Irrfan Khan, Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla would not want to associate themselves with these movies but these movies cannot be erased off the pages of history of Indian Cinema.

I hope you enjoyed this funny and cringe-worthy list of movie titles! If you have any more such hilarious titles in mind, please do share in the comments below!
