How the lock-down has made celebrities more relatable

With COVID-19 taking the world by storm, it has spared neither the common man nor the celebrities. The nation-wide lock-down has forced the who’s who of the entertainment industry to stay indoors. And they have made sure to make the most of their time while in self-imposed hibernation.

Some have even found creative and innovative ways to quarantine and chill and make lock-down time seem like the most conducive environment to do things differently.

Larger than life lifestyle

Celebrities are known to lead lives that look and are larger than life. With the world’s best luxuries at their disposal, the world is at their fingertips. Right from their airport looks to their beautiful mansions, they lead an envious lifestyle. We are often awestruck by this and somewhere deep down we want a slice of that fairy-tale life too.

Thanks to this lock-down, celebrities are starting to feel more humane to us. This is because of the God-like status that we have given them over the years. We felt like they always had help at their fingertips whenever they needed help doing the most trivial jobs.

Lockdown has humanized celebs

So right from making their food to washing their dishes, keeping the house neat and clean, and doing this all on their own, celebrities never looked so humble. That makes us feel like we can finally touch them and know that they are in the end, just as normal as us.

Here are a few celebrities that have proved that they are going about their normal routine just like we do, with a little more creativity that we can all take inspiration from:

Katrina Kaif: @katrinakaif

Katrina has been taking the internet by storm by sharing innovative ways of breaking the lock-down blues. She has been sharing a lot of creative workout videos that we can all do at home without having to spend a penny on any fancy gym equipment. She also posted a video of her sweeping her house and washing her dishes; something that is not a normal sight in the lives of celebrities.

Deepika Padukone: @deepikapadukone

Deepika has a bit of Marie Kondo time going on with her labeling all the food ingredients in her house including her husband, actor Ranveer Singh. She has also posted pictures of clearing out her wardrobe and indulging in a few self-care routines. She has also taken to learning a new skill: learning the piano to beat the lock-down blues.

Kangana Ranaut: @team_kangana_ranaut

The powerhouse actress posted a picture of her playing cards with her family in her hometown Manali. We have all been missing out on some good old family time. This is a good way to start bringing those golden days back.

Malaika Arora: @malaikaaroraofficial

The actress recently posted a video of her making some mouth-watering besan laddoos at home. She also posted a picture of spending quality with her partner, no not Arjun Kapoor, but her dog Casper. We all need some pet love with so much negativity going on in the world.

Billie Eilish: @billieeilish

The 18-year-old brilliant singer-songwriter has been making the most of her quarantine days by spending quality time with her family and pets. She has also said that she has faced no problem in staying indoors. This has given her a chance to take a breather after spending months away from her family due to hectic tour schedules.

Chris Martin: @coldplay

The Coldplay frontman has been making awesome and creative use of his downtime by streaming live concerts for his fans on his Instagram account so that they do not have to feel sad about not being able to attend his band’s concerts due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Saif Ali Khan: (not on social media)

The actor is also making creative use of his time indoors by staying close to nature through gardening. He has also posted pictures of him and his son Taimur Ali Khan, watering the plants together.

Kartik Aaryan: @kartikaaryan

The Love Aaj Kal 2 actor is probably doing something unique with his time in lockdown. He has come up with his web series of sorts on Instagram called ‘Koki Poochega’.

In this web series, he calls upon health experts and COVID-19 survivors to share their knowledge and stories. He does this to keep his fans and the general public up to date with their facts and to stay away from misleading rumours. What a way to be a role model for the younger generation!

Shilpa Shetty: @theshilpashetty

Actress Shilpa Shetty is often known for her laugh-out-loud moments and is often always in the mood to crack jokes and have a good time. She is helping people stay cheerful during this crisis by sharing a TikTok video of her mimicking a minion! And she has done a pretty good job!

Bringing out the best in crucial times

These testing times have truly brought out the best in celebrities and have brought them a little closer to the common man.

With many people battling various mental health issues which are quite understandable during this lonesome period, celebrities are playing a vital role by being true role models and inspiring people to get out and do something creative with their time at home.
