  • It is believed to make you smarter and more energised.
  • A good amount of caffeine in your diet can increase your epinephrine levels.
  • Coffee contains many essential nutrients required by the body.
  • Caffeine in coffee helps those suffering with depression.

Traditionally, it’s believed that despite its many positives, coffee is equivalent to abusing your body.

  • Coffee can literally kill you. Coffee is addictive and people end up consuming too much in a short time. Sometimes, a dose that is lethal.
  • Cross the recommended 400 milligrammes of caffeine in a day and you’ll have a sleepless night.
  • Coffee increases your risks of gastrointestinal disorders.
  • It cause irregular heartbeat, tremors and higher levels of bad cholesterol.
  • In addition, coffee can induce bronchial damage and worsen existing arthritis.
  • Even though coffee might be able to prevent you from falling asleep, it might leave you with a series of chronic headaches.
  • Regular coffee drinkers might face premature childbirth.
  • Dehydration and thirst by diuretic effect from coffee promotes hair loss.

No matter how enticing the aroma of coffee is, it’s demerits are more as compared to its benefits. WHO (World Health Organisation) defines coffee as a three-stage carcinogen. Mainly because, the caffeine in coffee has the ability to induce various types of cancer.

Coffee falls in the moral gray area. Though it can induce various types of cancers, the caffeine in coffee helps inhibits brain cancer proliferation. It inhibits the activity and metastasis of brain cancer cells by reducing intracellular calcium concentration.

The most important thing coffee does, is keep you awake. But that’s not always true. Many people fall asleep even after having a cup of coffee. Caffeine reacts with the adenosine receptors in your brain. Adenosine secreted makes you drowsy but many other systems in your brain make you sleepy.

Caffeine reacts with just adenosine receptors.Coffee isn’t always effective. In small amounts, coffee is a medicine needed by your body but in unhealthy quantities, it’s a poison you’re ingesting.
